 Credit

The CPE Certificate

The CPE certificate is granted upon successful completion of English 098 and English 099, or the six single skill courses that comprise them. A minimum C grade must be earned on all six courses before a student may apply for the CPE certificate. Students who want this certificate should apply for it.

The certificate states that the holder has achieved sufficient English proficiency to undertake post-secondary level studies.

Completion of English 098 and 099 has been provincially articulated to be the equivalent of English 12 and Social Studies 11.

English 12 Equivalency for International Education Students

International students can now obtain Grade 12 equivalency credit by successfully completing Writing 095, Reading 096 and Academic Oral Skills 090.

University Transfer Credit

English 101 and English 102 each carry a 3 credit value. This credit is articulated with the universities and colleges, and may be transferred to your next institution of study. Exact equivalencies are listed in the British Columbia transfer guide.
